Every dance has a list of basic movements that form it. Basic hip-hop movements are distinguished by their diversity. This style originated as a street dance, where everyone showed everything they were capable of. It is important that all movements go well with the music they are performed to. Music in hip-hop is called beat. This rhythm can be hidden under words and other sounds. The main thing that a dancer needs is to hear it and move to the beat.

Basics of hip-hop This dance has more than eighty basic movements. They are divided into three schools: Old School – was popular from 1979 to 1990. It includes the simplest and most popular movements. Currently, the most popular was the “upper” break dance, this is how hip-hop dance is often called. Middle School movements appeared in the decade from 1990 to 2000. Their founders were the cartoon character Bart Simpson, Janet Jackson and Bobby Brown. This school includes all kinds of steps. If you want to perform a modern hip-hop dance, the New school is perfect for this. It includes movements that appeared after 2000. This school includes the famous Harlem Shake, which was the most popular movement on the dance floor a few months ago. You need to start mastering this dance with ducks and steps.

Groove: This term hides a swing – body movements in the rhythm of the music. These easy hip-hop movements are divided into three groups: Bounce – on each count, you need to smoothly bend your knees and move your body down. In order to practice this exercise, you need to put your feet shoulder-width apart and count. On the first count, bend your knees, on the second, straighten them. Reverse “swing” – up. In this case, you need to straighten your knees in time with the music, moving your body up. Fast pulsation – body movements are performed faster, on each half count.

Steps: Another basic hip-hop movement is steps. They are used to change the direction of movement in the dance and turns. Without them, it is impossible to participate in battles and create a full-fledged dance. Two step from the inside – imagine yourself on a dance mat with arrows (in your imagination, you should be standing in the middle of it) pointing in different directions. For the connection, use the swing and move, first take a step back and return inside, then do the same forward, left, right and diagonally. For the second type of steps, you need to imagine yourself in front of a triangle. These basic hip-hop movements are performed alternately with the right and left legs through a cross step (cross step for changing legs). First, with the right and then with the left foot, you need to step on the imaginary vertices of the triangle. Sham rock – a diagonal movement in one direction and back. The movement begins with the left leg. It takes a diagonal step. Then the toes turn to the right side, the legs become close, the dancer stands on his toes and lowers himself onto his full foot. Hip-hop, like any other dance style, is best taught in a professional school, so you can come to our Dream Team school and learn dances with us. After all, only a qualified teacher will find an individual approach to a new student and teach him the necessary movements

Like any dance, hip-hop is very popular among children. And even adults, and you should start with something simple – a caught rhythm. Come to our Dream Team dance school, catch the rhythm and live the dance.
